A Problem Shared?

Probably time to write about something closer to home, as my wife is off to hospital in the next few weeks for yet another operation.

Text removed as it was just a "get it off my chest" moment :)

My heart goes out to your wife and you. I will pray for her healing, can't hurt. This may sound a little crazy, but as much trouble your wifes body has been giving her, there is one fortunate aspect I see and that is she has you supporting her. I have several medical issues which started when a drunk hit me head on and 20 years later I am on morphine and a large amount of hydrocodone. My worst issue is fibromyalgia which is incurable and the number one killer of this disease is by our own hand. I guess my wife cares. She asked me how I felt just last month, oh well. My daughter has endometriosis and I can't take watching her suffer. Her Dr. won't give her any pain meds stronger than tylenol. Let's just say I share but now I come up short but, I don't care. Please tell your wife you still love her and how beautiful she still is. Sit next to her and don't be ashamed to hold her hand, not that you don't. It's just when we the ill have no means of family/spoucel support, along with our illnesses, life becomes unbearable. So I will thank you for supporting your wife and I will pray hard for her healing and both of your continued strength. Forgive my spelling and grammar, this is heck on my whole brain process.

Thank you for your kind words.
My sympathies go out to you in dealing with your own problem.
I hadn't heard of fibromyalgia before and the description I found is vague but seems to suggest a variable body pain with unknown causes.
Having suffered from Frozen shoulder after a fall, I remember how despondent I became just dealing with the pain of one area of my body (fortunately almost cleared up now), so to have to deal with what sounds like a similar pain level but in the whole body must be devastating for you.
I'm sad that your wife doesn't seem to be very supportive, the only good thing that's come out of all our problems is that we are closer than we probably ever would have been without them.
Strangely it has seemed to move us on from just being Husband and wife to becoming best friends and soul mates, almost a "siege mentatlity" of "what are you gonna throw at us now".
